The Network East-West has been launched in 1999 by an international group of professional women and Satyananda Yoga teachers.
The Netzwerk Ost-West e.V. was founded on 19th January 2002. Network East-West was registered on 20 March 2002 in Königstein/Taunus and recognized as non-profit organization for intercultural understanding by the Ministry of Finance in Bad Homburg v.d.H. (Tax Number: 03 250 8631 0 K-02).
The first conference in 2001 with 85 women from 22 countries took place in St. Marienthal.

The second conference in 2002 took place at the Centre for Environmental Education in Ojcow National Park near Krakow, Poland. 55 women from 19 mostly middle and eastern European countries participated.
The third conference was again held in St. Marienthal. From 19-22 June 2003, 65 women from 18 countries participated in the talks, workshops and general networking activities.
Furthermore a reading took place by Lydia Scheuermann-Hodak from Croatia in the public library of Kronberg.

The fourth women´s meeting in 2004 took place at Satyanandashram Hellas in Greece from Sunday 4 - Sunday 11 July.
In 2005 three weekend workshops took place in Poland and Ukraine.
In 2006 various seminars and workshops were arranged.
From 2 - 5 August 2007 the 5th Conference took place in Uzana, Bulgaria.
