I've just returned from this gathering of Women from all over Europe. There were about 100 of us, including 20 from the eastern European countries - Bulgaria, Russia, Kazakstan, Poland, Slovakia, Yugoslavia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. We even had one representative from New Zealand.
It was a very mixed group. Sannyasins mixed with people who had never experienced any Yoga practices before.
It was fascinating to see the changes in the faces as the days went by. We all had the chance to give or receive nurture, love, and a listening ear, depending on our situation. Many of the Women had sad and terrifying stories to tell, and so the first 2 days were quite intense. But with the balance provided by Yoga practice and the support we experienced from others in big or small groups, the faces opened and our inner light and love shone through. Changes were experienced. Possibilities of helping each other emerged and the gathering became the launch for many friendships and plans.
This gathering was unique for me in that I was not one of the organisers and so was free to attend many of the sessions:
With Hanna Machia (India) we chanted the Shakti mantras for healing, focusing on many aspects of God as the Mother through mantra repetition
